RELAX…

When you arrive at the studio, I will sit you down with my professional make up artist and a cuppa so you can relax and enjoy some pampering me-time. Meanwhile, I will take a look at the outfits you have brought, discuss some ideas with you and design your shoot plan so that is tailored specifically for you.

If you don’t know what wear don’t worry… when you book your shoot I email you a preparation guide with examples to help you plan your outfits!

I use flattering lighting and posing techniques, showing you exactly what to do, right from your eyebrows to your toes. I retouch “responsibly”. My goal for retouching is not to change your shape (you are perfect as you are) its really just to smooth away and little temporary blemishes, dark circles under the eyes etc.

I also tidy up and smooth areas where underwear may be digging in to your skin (because no matter what your size, bras have a lovely habit of digging in, creating lumps and bumps… I’m one of those ladies who cannot wait to slings her bra off as soon as she gets home… but I digress).

So you see, you have nothing to worry about. In fact you may be surprised by just how fun it really is and how you’ll start to feel beautiful and confident before you’ve even seen your photos.

The Studio

My private boudoir photo studio was formerly a 19th century hayloft and is in beautiful countryside at the edge of Wilstone village near Tring in Hertfordshire.

My studio is a female-only boudoir studio and once the make up artist has left it is just me with no other staff present. It is very private and my clients tell me how calming and relaxing they find it here.

Upstairs in the cosy mezzanine loft area is where you relax and allow yourself to be pampered. The downstairs area is where all the fun takes place, your photo shoot! It is very peaceful and private and you will soon relax and enjoy this special bit of ‘me-time’. You will have the studio all to yourself. Unlike a noisy high street or city based studio you won’t have to sit and wait your turn with other clients (which could feel awkward!)

A boudoir photo experience should be a special treat for you and so you are treated as such. I only ever shoot one boudoir session per day so that the whole days is focused on you with no other distractions.

It is a highly personal service where you will be treated with warmth and respect.

There will be no other clients present and no ‘teams’ of staff breathing down your neck. It’s just myself and the make up artist. And when your make up is finished she leaves so that you have total privacy during your shoot.

At certain times of year the field next to my studio is full of baby lambs which often provides a bit of extra entertainment!
