How do I book?
Call Mikaela on 01442 863403.
Where is the studio?
My private studio is in the countryside at the edge of a pretty village called Wilstone just outside Tring in Hertfordshire. You may have heard of Tring as it’s home to the main Champneys health spa.
The studio is private and visits are by appointment only. Once you book I will give you the full address details and directions. The postcode is HP23 4NZ.
Do you supply a make-up artist?
Yes, your session includes hair and make-up by one of my professional make-up artists. This usually takes around 90 mins and is a lovely relaxing way to unwind and be pampered before your photoshoot.
How many outfits and what kind of lingerie should I bring?
Unless you want a totally nude photo shoot it’s a good idea to bring around 2 to 4 outfits as some may work better than others and it gives us some choice and variety. As well as 2 piece outfits also think about corsets, babydolls, or basques, stocking, suspender belts and / or hold-ups. Some shots can be taken with nothing more than a cute pair of knickers. Have a look through my online photo gallery for some inspiration. If you ever needed a great excuse for some retail therapy – this is it! As well as lingerie, some clients bring their partner’s shirt. Bring some fabulous, sexy shoes, the higher the heel the better… and don’t worry you won’t be walking around much in them! When you book your session we can discuss more ideas on the phone.
I know my clients enjoy shopping for all the bits and pieces for their shoot. Some of my clients bring in amazing looking killer heels that are only £20 from high street stores like New Look, so they don’t have to be expensive. ebay is great for low priced corsets and basques. Ann Summers is a great shop for boudoir lingerie too and even Top Shop has started doing vintage style lingerie. If you live local to Tring you could try Gorgeous Lingerie – lovely lingerie boutique run by Danielle who has won awards for her fantastic personal service!
I am worried that I won’t know what to do or how to pose!
None of my clients are professional models so don’t worry! They are ordinary women from all walks of life, at different stages in their life… just like you and me. Many of my clients have children, some have grandchildren. Please don’t let age or size stop you from having a boudoir session as I will guide you into poses that will flatter your individual figure. The ladies in my website gallery range in age from 20s to 50’s and a range of dress sizes from petite to plus size. Because I tailor your boudoir photo shoot to suit your shape, every shoot is different – which makes it so exciting and unique!
Whether classic boudoir or pin-up style, my aim is always to create beautiful, sensual, artistic photos that will not date… I don’t do tacky gimmicks or cheese! I think being a female photographer really helps as I understand how women want to see themselves.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes! In fact if you fancy a fun girlie, pampering day with a friend then we also offer a discount if you and a friend want to shoot on the same day.
Does my age matter?
I will happily photograph anybody in a boudoir style who is over the age of 18. So if you know you look young please bring ID to prove you are over 18. There is no upper limit(!)
When will I see my photographs?
Your photographs will normally be ready to view within 14 days of your shoot – often earlier. After your boudoir shoot we will book a time in the diary for you to come back and view your gorgeous photos. And you are welcome to bring your partner – unless it’s a surprise gift of course!
Your finished products will normally be ready within 7 days (for prints) or 14 days (for albums) from the day you place your order.
I am giving my boudoir photos as a gift to my husband for our Christmas – how far in advance should I book my shoot?
Please allow sufficient time during the run up to busy times such Spring (for bridal boudoir) and Christmas and Valentines day in which case I recommend that have your boudoir session at least one month before you intend to give your album as a gift. The same goes for any other special day such as a wedding, anniversary or birthday. Please try to book your session for at least a month before the gift date. If you are worried that you have left it too late please call me on 0n 01442 826394 to check my availability as there may still be a chance I can fit you in!
Will my images be shown on your website?
ONLY if you are happy for them to be shown. I like to sometimes use a couple of images on my website’s blog to give other women encouragement when they see your beautiful photos… but ONLY with your written permission. Of course if the boudoir shoot is a surprise then I will wait and only use the photos after you have given your partner their gift! If you would prefer me not to use your images I will completely respect your wishes.
When do I pay?
Payment for the session fee is due at the time of booking to secure the date (for myself and the make up artist) in my diary and is not refundable if you cancel or don’t show up on the day. Payment for packages of photos or for albums is due when you have chosen and ordered your images.
When can I have my boudoir session?
All sessions are by appointment only so we will find a time to suit you subject to availability whether that is a week day or a Saturday. Please note Saturdays get booked far in advance. The studio is closed on Sundays.
To book a session please call Mikaela on 01442 769303
I will have a chat with you on the phone before your shoot to go through all the details so you will know what to expect on the day and also to discuss ideas and outfits.
Look forward to hearing from you!
